Rasa Yoga Teacher- 200 hours

Specialties: Swedish, deep tissue, accupressure, myofacial therapies, stretching, vinyasa yoga, hatha yoga, yin yoga, and meditation

Experience: After decades working in the municipal government in the environmental sciences sector, I decided to make a change and work in the healing arts. I recently graduated from National Holistic Institute, and during my education I provided over 50 hours of massage through our public clinic. I also completed an externship with Bespoke Wellness, providing massages to their staff. I am now working at Vitality Health Service, a chiropractic clinic in Fremont, providing massages to their clients.

I have practiced yoga for over 10 years and been teaching for 4 years. I offered yoga online and in person to family, friends and burnt out educators and health care providers through the pandemic. I teach yoga in studio, at events and through my own business, Mtn Man Yoga.

Why Massage and Yoga: As a life long athlete I have found that a healthy and fit body is a vital ingredient in happiness. Through years of training I have come to realize the importance of maintaining my body through yoga and massage to enhance performance and speed up recovery. I want to help people care for their body, and through my education in massage and yoga, paired with my lived body experience, I now have the privilege of helping others. I bring my extensive knowledge of the body and how it moves into all the services that I provide.

Highlights of some of my events: 50 miles of the World’s Toughest Mudder, Swam from Alcatraz to Chrissy Fields twice, Backpacked over 70 miles in 4 days with a summit of Mount Whitney, completed a half Ironman triathlon, and ran the Big Sur Marathon.

Why Body Mechanix: I have belonged to many gyms, but none of them had the community aspect which is present at Body Mechanix. The group fitness classes, the personalized fitness training, and the alternative medicine practitioners all set this gym head and shoulders above any other gym.
